A $950 Cadillac Allante!
!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!
1993 Cadillac Allante Convertible. Beautiful car! First year of
Northstar V8. Old time luxury and comfort. Was running fine when garage
parked in 2013, but not driven since. Body in excellent shape. Needs a
bath! Interior worn.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
NP All Day, even if it needs a lot of TLC to run.

NP if the engine isn’t
blown. These were prone to head bolt failures. It’s not worth fixing the engine. Maybe swap in a LS
engine and transmission
from an I
mpala/Monte Carlo. Or you can see if you can convert it to RWD.

And add that to the long list of maladies Allantes had - failing LCD dashes, iffy wiring, burned out chips in the Bose speakers, chronic water leaks, finicky ABS, suspension failures, etc. Once they are neglected, they are extremely expensive to get right, and it's pretty much never worth it financially.

The stud fix is relatively easy, as such things go.

I kinda dig these, actually.

Oh, but I really want the Milano Maroon C2 in the background.

First year of Northstar, hmmmm, I don't recall the launch of that engine being very smooth. I'll avoid this one, thank you very much.

I guess the question is if the engine blew because of the head bolt issue and that’s why it's been parked.

Early Northstars were a mixed bag, admittedly, but like a 22RE generally new gaskets-and-better-studs are a well known fix on these. Fix that and never worry about it again..
The “electrical gremlins” are a much bigger issue.
I will end up owning one of these. The earlier 4.9 was a crappy engine, but per your first comment one can just shrug and swap in an LS4 or a VW VR6. I think a VW FWD with a manual would be awesome frankly.
